Mexico is one of the countries in Latin America with the best coverage of contraceptive methods since the “Ley General de Población General” (Population Law) got published in January 1974; And announced the creation of the “Consejo Nacional de Población” (National Population Council).
By the end of the year, the 4th article of the Mexican Constitution added a sentence that defined the future of family planning in the country by stating: Everyone has the right to decide freely, responsibly, and informed about the number and spacing of their children.
