FIND MY METHOD PRIVACY POLICY

1. WHO WE ARE SCOPE OF THIS POLICY:

Find My Method (referred to as ‘the Organization’ or ‘We’) is a non-profit entity operating a digital platform comprising a website and related technologies. Our mission is to provide people worldwide with accurate and personalized information on contraceptive methods, empowering them to engage in safe sex, prevent unplanned pregnancies, and make autonomous sexual and reproductive health choices.

This digital platform, referred to as ‘the System,’ collects personally identifiable information (PII) from Users, which includes individuals associated with the Organization such as employees, independent contractors, and job applicants (referred to as ‘Users’). This Privacy Policy outlines the types of PII we collect and explains Users’ rights concerning the PII we collect. While the Organization owns and controls many aspects of the System, certain functionalities are provided by Third-Party Service Providers to enhance efficiency.

We have created and adhere to this Privacy Policy to safeguard Users’ privacy.

2. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY SUPPLEMENTAL PRIVACY NOTICES

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy in the future. Users will not be notified about minor changes that do not affect their privacy interests, such as improvements in privacy protection, correction of typos, or the addition of non-substantial information. For any material change, we will notify Users via covered platforms. If a User has yet to provide a valid email address, we cannot inform them about any changes to this Policy. This Privacy Policy may be changed or supplemented by posting a new version or supplemental privacy notices applicable to particular interactions with us. These notices may be embedded in this Policy, posted on the Organization’s website, and/or made available separately.

7. YOUR RIGHTS TO ACCESS, CORRECT, CONTROL, AND DELETE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Users whose PII we possess have the following rights:

  • Obtain access to and receive copies of their PII

  • Correct or delete their PII
  • Change how we use their PII

To exercise these rights, Users must provide us with a valid, verifiable email address and follow the instructions in the ‘HOW TO CONTACT US’ section. Failure to provide a valid, verifiable email address inhibits our ability to verify their identity and exercise their rights.

8. OUR MINOR’S PRIVACY POLICY AND PRACTICES

We do not intentionally collect information about individuals under the age of 13. Our System does not contain content specifically appealing to minors or potentially impacting them adversely, and we do not independently verify the ages of our users. If users provide PII about individuals under 13, we handle such information according to this Privacy Policy. If we become aware of interaction with an individual under 13, we will inform them that parental consent is required.

9. OUR DATA SECURITY AND RETENTION POLICIES AND PRACTICES

To protect your PII from unauthorised disclosure/use, we take the following precautions:

  • Educating our employees, representatives, and Third-Party Service Providers about this Privacy Policy
  • Enhancing our security measures to prevent unauthorised disclosure and/or use of your PII

Our general policy is to delete all PII within one year of the date collected. However, this does not always happen due to the complexity of our System. Additionally, our data retention policy does not apply to PII collected and/or stored by Third-Party Service Providers. We are also working to ensure all collected PII is encrypted at rest, although not all PII is currently encrypted.

10. OUR “DO NOT TRACK” DISCLOSURE

We do not engage in tracking individuals across third-party websites for targeted advertising and do not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals.

11. HOW TO CONTACT US WITH REQUESTS, COMMENTS, AND QUESTIONS

To contact us with requests, comments, and/or questions, please email us at privacy@findmymethod.org. Before disclosing any PII or making any changes, we will use the email address on file to verify the identity of the person making the request. Your privacy is very important to us.

If a User does not provide us with a valid, verifiable email address, we cannot verify their identity, which prevents us from allowing anyone to exercise any rights related to PII in our possession.

12. LAST UPDATE

This Privacy Policy was updated in August 2024. We will update this Privacy Policy at least once every 12 months.
