  • Pros
    • It’s low effort. Get it and forget it.
    • It’s easy to hide. No one will know you’ve had one.
    • It’s non-hormonal.
    • It’s long-term and offered as a permanent contraception.
    Cons
    • It’s only a good option if you’ve already had enough children or do not want any more children.
    • It’s permanent, so you need to be 100% sure. Though reversal is possible, pregnancy is not guaranteed.
    • It doesn’t protect against STIs.
    Vasectomy

    A vasectomy is a surgical procedure in which the tubes that carry sperm are blocked to prevent pregnancy. A man can still ejaculate, but the semen has no sperm.
  • It's 99% effective.
    • It offers long-term protection.
    • It’s easy to hide. No one will know.
    • It’s low effort. You have the procedure once, and you are done for life.
    • It does not affect sexual performance or libido.
    • It is cheaper than having a tubal ligation/.
    • It’s permanent. Although it’s reversible, the procedure is expensive and doesn’t guarantee a pregnancy.
    • It does not protect from STIs.
