How is the cervical cap removed?
How is the cervical cap removed?

You need to remove it six hours after having vaginal sex. This is how you remove it:
– Wash your hands with soap and water. Let them air dry.
– Squat down. Put a finger inside your vagina. Get a hold of the removal strap, and rotate the cap.
– Push on the dome a bit with your finger to break the suction.
– Hook your finger under the strap and pull the cap out.
– After you take it out, wash it with mild soap and warm water, and let it air dry.
– Don’t use powders on your cap – they could cause infection.
– Don’t worry if it becomes discolored. It will still work.
If you feel discomfort from using this method, you might want to consider switching to another method.
Everyone is different. What you experience may not be the same as another person (5).
