What if I want a method that is more effective but I do not want to visit a health care provider?

You can buy multiple methods over-the-counter such as external condoms (male)/internal condom (female), internal condom (female), the sponge, and spermicide.
The most effective methods are available after a visit with the health care provider, so you may want to find a friendly, affordable and accessible health facility or community health provider if you do not want a pregnancy right now. You may want to talk to your provider about contraceptive options then.
Still not working? We want you to have options, even if you do not want to visit a health care provider/. Try using internal condom (female) or external condoms (male) – you can find them in drug stores, clinics, supermarkets.
Try a different method: external condoms ; internal condom (female) ; emergency contraception(male).
